The Property Forum 2007

The Property Forum is the most important meetings based event in the property calendar, bringing together key decision makers from occupiers with senior executives from property service providers to:
  • Grow expertise through first class conference programme and shared experience
  • Build strategic relationships at a senior level through pre-scheduled & agreed one-to-one meetings
  • Network and relax with other key figures from the industry

'Very good environment to meet with key decision makers and to network with like minded people.' Steve McDowell, Fasset

Globalisation Challenges Corporate Real Estate

Following the success of last year's Property Forum, we are delighted to launch a new report produced in collaboration with DTZ entitled "The new landscape of corporate real estate management".

The report is based on a survey of 70 top global companies and the outputs from workshops hosted by DTZ at the Property Forum in September 2006. It throws light on what's driving the next waves of globalisation, and with over 60% of future growth to occur in emerging economies, considers the implications from the widening of global operations. This report takes a fresh look at how corporate real estate is responding to the challenge.

Richard Hurst of DTZ comments: "Today functions are globally footloose and the pace of new market entry creates a host of challenges and opportunities for CRE executives. The survey aims to provide an update on globalisation trends, and to stimulate ideas for the future focus of global CRE management".

February's Spotlight

Mike Knight, Estates Director
Barclay's Bank plc

Mike has been the Estates Director of Barclays Facilities Management for a number of years. He is an established member of the Interbank Rating Forum and a longstanding fan of the Property Forum. We asked Mike to take 5 minutes out of his hectic schedule to answer a few questions.

  1. Looking back at 2006, what were the major success stories for Barclays?

  2. Successful migration to a market leading integrated services outsourced model focused upon the property life cycle.
  3. What are your goals within the property department in 2007?

  4. Talent will be the number one issue. New entrants today want to know not only where they will work but also how they will work so offering the right location and environment will be vital.
  5. You attended the Property Forum before, could you briefly explain what your experience of it was like?

  6. A unique opportunity to discuss and explore issues of strategic importance to corporate occupiers with both peers and a wide range of service providers in a superb environment.
  7. What was the highlight of the event for you?

  8. It has to be the closing address. Creating Powerful Business Teams - Ian Thomas. It was a privilege to listen and watch Ian passionately demonstrate how much business people can learn from the animal kingdom and lions in particular. His standing ovation was thoroughly deserved.
  9. You have booked to attend again this year. Is there anything you think we should change or improve?

  10. It will be a challenge to repeat last year's success and to keep this event fresh and relevant. Sharing the venue with other conferences perhaps needs to be reviewed.
  11. What would you say to anybody who is undecided as to whether they should attend The Property Forum this year or not?

  12. This event offers excellent business value - Go.
  13. Who do you plan on sending a Valentine's Card to this year?

  14. As usual, my plans on this front will not necessarily translate into what I action!!!

Please add us to your address book - so you can receive latest updates on The Property Forum and its attendees.
